Term 2: Transformers

Our theme for Term 2 is “Transformers”.

We will be focussing on different aspects of performing arts, more specifically drama, but we will look into song and dance as well. It is going to be a fun term of learning for us. It is also an opportunity for us to continue on with our MITEY learning – talking about how we can use drama to express ourselves and our emotions. Get ready for a creative and art-filled term! Manaiakalani Film Festival – 4for$20

The cost of living has been on the rise lately. Gone are the days that our families could buy meals to feed us for under $10, let alone $20. Just to think that ten years ago, you could buy a loaf of bread and 2 litre milk from the dairy with a $5 note, AND have change to buy lollies. Room 6 has been working hard to find recipes that can feed families of four, and stays within a $20 budget.

Enjoy! Please leave a positive, thoughtful and helpful comment.

Term 3: Fit For Purpose

Our theme for Term 3 is “Fit For Purpose”.

We will be looking at the PE/Health curriculum to help us be more aware of our physical and mental fitness. Our focus will be on making goals, learning new skills, working out and MITEY. We will also spend some time doing some Cross Country practice to help prepare us for the end of term, which will be super fun.

Check out the video our teachers put together during the holidays for ‘Fit For Purpose’.

PES Picnic

Pt England School usually has their picnic quite early in the term. Unfortunately, due to the flooding and cyclones, we had to postpone the annual event. Fortunately for us, we were able to enjoy a day in the Sun this past Friday! We had heaps of fun swimming, playing in the sand, playing sports, playing on the playground, and relaxing with our friends. Check out our learners’ blogs to see what they thought about it.

Duffy @ PES

Duffy came to PES! On Friday, Duffy and his friends came to perform a show. This show was about space, and we learnt a lot of new knowledge about space. The performance was funny, entertaining and the actors engaged well with our learners (from Year 1 to 8s).

Thank you for coming to PES, Duffy!

Introducing Room 6 @ PES for 2023

This is Room 6 at Point England School for 2023!

We are so excited for what this year has planned for us. Some of us are new to the 678 area, and some have come from other classes in the 678 area.

Our theme this year is ‘Keep It Real – Tika, Pono, Aroha’. This year we will be making sure that we are keeping it real by telling the truth, doing the right thing and being kind to others.

It has been a tough couple of years dealing with Covid19 and we are hoping to get back into the swing of things at Point England. Some of the events we are looking forward to this year is Year 5 and 6 Camp, Fiafia, Swimming, Manaiakalani Film Festival, PES Sports, Year 6 Camp, and many more events.

Here’s to a great year ahead!
