Term 2: Transformers

Our theme for Term 2 is “Transformers”.

We will be focussing on different aspects of performing arts, more specifically drama, but we will look into song and dance as well. It is going to be a fun term of learning for us. It is also an opportunity for us to continue on with our MITEY learning – talking about how we can use drama to express ourselves and our emotions. Get ready for a creative and art-filled term! Term 3: Fit For Purpose

Our theme for Term 3 is “Fit For Purpose”.

We will be looking at the PE/Health curriculum to help us be more aware of our physical and mental fitness. Our focus will be on making goals, learning new skills, working out and MITEY. We will also spend some time doing some Cross Country practice to help prepare us for the end of term, which will be super fun.

Check out the video our teachers put together during the holidays for ‘Fit For Purpose’.

School Lunches

Our school has been getting free lunches for the past two years. We have been really enjoying our lunches this year. Some of the things we’ve had include Fried Rice, Butter Chicken, Chicken/Tuna Rice Balls, Pasta and Chicken Burgers (pictured above). We even love the snacks we get on the side – biscuits, popcorn, corn chips, brownies and fruit. Thank you to our amazing lunch providers for the delicious lunches! We appreciate you making us meals to keep us full and satisfied.

PES Picnic

Pt England School usually has their picnic quite early in the term. Unfortunately, due to the flooding and cyclones, we had to postpone the annual event. Fortunately for us, we were able to enjoy a day in the Sun this past Friday! We had heaps of fun swimming, playing in the sand, playing sports, playing on the playground, and relaxing with our friends. Check out our learners’ blogs to see what they thought about it.

Year 5/6 Camp

Year 5/6 Camp was very enjoyable. We all had an amazing time. We want to say a huge thank you to the teachers and staff in Team 4 for putting it together, the parents for helping, SMT for their help, and all of the children in Team 4 for having heaps of fun! Here is a video from back in Week 6, showing just how much fun we actually had. We hope you enjoy!

Year 5/6 Camp

The Year 5’s and 6’s in Team 4 are off to Camp! We are so excited. Camp is being held on our front lawn at PES, and there are heaps of activities that we will be doing to utilize the amazing resources we have in our school and community. Some of these activities include Slip’n’Slide, Killer Zone, Kayaking, Camp Cooking, Cyclo-ball and Skating/B-ball/Table Tennis. We will also get to watch a movie, and on our last night, each group has prepared a dance to show to the other groups and their families, who were also invited to watch.

First Team 4 Assembly

And we are back! Team 4 have had our first Team Assembly, getting us all back into routine. Thank you to Masen and Hunter for volunteering to do the karakia and mihi for our team. We used this time to introduce the Team 4 teachers and support staff to our learners, and we even had a little dance at the end to get our bodies moving. Looking forward to Week 2 Team Assembly!
